The Company

We’re Tallwave, a digital agency. We’re a curious, competitive group of data-driven marketers, designers, and creative problem solvers who move fast to help our clients achieve their most ambitious goals. We find parity boring, and we’re constantly challenging ourselves to deliver innovative solutions with speed, precision, and impeccable craftsmanship. We dream big, we drive results, and we’ll make a lasting impact on our clients’ businesses.

Our ambitions are too big to leave room for individual egos, and the true measure of our success is what we can accomplish together. Our culture balances individual aspirations and accountability with each other. We value selflessness, humility, and tremendous work ethic. This drives an inspiration and dedication that can be felt across the organization.

The Person

Tallwave seeks out individuals who are a cut above. Their exceptional skill, diverse perspectives, obsession for winning together, and relentless pursuit of continuous self-improvement, both professionally and personally, give them an innate ability to lead, innovate, and inspire. They have well-honed philosophies and points of view in their areas of expertise, they think unconventionally, and their endless curiosity pushes them to constantly explore, learn, improve, and try new things.

The Job
You work inside a large Fortune 500 enterprise client and fix the one thing slowing its delivery down. You diagnose, you advise, and you build.

You diagnose. You run the workshops, interview the people inside the bottleneck, and map how work actually moves. You separate the loud complaint from the constraint that sets the pace. You name it, quantify it, and write a hypothesis that can fail.

You advise. You turn what you found into a clear case for the sponsor and help them decide what to fix first and what to leave alone. You frame the next problem before the client asks. You hold the standard in the room when the client wants to skip to a tool.

You build. You put a first working version of the AI tool inside the real workflow, on real data and real tasks, using AI coding agents. You own the prompts, the agent flow, and the first read on whether the output is good enough to test. Then you sit with users until it is used.

You work in a pod of three with an Engagement Lead and a Platform Engineer. You are the person where the work meets the client.

Our clients are large, mature, process-heavy, and risk-aware. They know delivery is stuck. They have been pitched AI for two years. They want someone to show up, understand their work better than they expected, and put something useful in their hands within weeks. That is the job.

This is an early-career role with a clear path. You start in the field under a Lead. The good version of you leads an engagement within eighteen months.

What You Do

  1. Design and run workshops. Diagnosis sessions, interviews, and process mapping with the people inside the bottleneck. You plan the session, run the wall, and write the synthesis.
  2. Name the constraint. Separate what annoys people from what slows the flow. Write a hypothesis with a mechanism, a metric, and a clock, so it can fail.
  3. Prototype with agents. Build working tool slices with AI coding agents on real data and real tasks, inside the real workflow. Own the prompts, the agent flow, and the first read of output quality.
  4. Get it used. Sit with users, watch them work, and fix what blocks adoption. Usage in live work is the result you own.
  5. Read the signal. Track whether the hypothesis holds. Say so plainly when it does not, and propose the pivot.
  6. Present. Turn what you found and built into decision-ready material for sponsors, and present it yourself.
  7. Hold the client room with the Lead. Earn the trust of the operators and the sponsor, and keep the work moving through slow organizations.

Who you are

  1. Two to five years in product management, UX design, service design, product design, or consulting on digital products.
  2. You have designed and facilitated workshops with real stakeholders and turned the output into decisions.
  3. You build with AI. You have shipped a working prototype with Claude Code, Cursor, or a comparable coding agent, and you can show it.
  4. AI fluency. You understand LLMs, agents, retrieval, and evaluation well enough to design around their limits.
  5. Bias for action. You would rather ship a rough version this week than a polished one next month.
  6. Fearless in the room. You are comfortable asking a director why a process exists, and comfortable being wrong out loud.
  7. You write short, clear, structured prose. Your documents get read.
  8. Comfort in ambiguity. You find the critical problem in a messy situation and give it shape.
  9. Bias to proof and speed. Comfortable running experiments in a culture that prefers analysis.

Nice-to-Have

  1. A good understanding of design and UX. Designers who build are the closest thing to this role that already exists.
  2. Experience inside a large, regulated enterprise: consumer goods, financial services, healthcare.
  3. Light scripting or data comfort. Enough to inspect a dataset without waiting for an analyst.
  4. Experience running design sprints, build weeks, or similar time-boxed formats.

Ways of Working

  1. Full-time Tallwave role, embedded on one client engagement at a time.
  2. Remote in the United States. Regular travel to client sites is mandatory. Diagnosis happens in person.
  3. Pod of three. You work daily with the Engagement Lead and the Platform Engineer.
  4. AI coding agents are your default build tool. We expect you to be fast with them and honest about their limits.
