The Opportunity
Our Strategy team is at the center of how we define, create, and deliver value for our clients at Tallwave. They’re present throughout the entire client lifecycle, uncovering needs and crafting solutions alongside our sales team, defining the desired future state, rallying delivery team members to create value through client engagements, and illuminating growth opportunities in partnership with account leads to grow client footprints and lifetime value.
Tallwave is looking for a Full-Time Senior Client Strategist to add to our value delivery team. This individual is a pragmatic strategist, who isn't afraid of pushing for big ideas but also understands how to guide execution to achieve outcomes and get things done. We're looking for someone who can guide clients and internal teams to improve strategic outputs, question assumptions, and reshape opportunities to create meaningful customer experiences and create impact for our clients.
This individual will focus primarily, but not exclusively, acquisition marketing, product, customer experience, and/or innovation strategy, and will be heavily involved in successful delivery and management of the client work. This individual may also be required to support new business pitches or organizational design work for Tallwave. This person may be asked to help with content creation for marketing efforts.

The Job
The successful full-time Senior Client Strategist will:
- Be a solutionist. You’ll partner with client services team members and subject matter experts across the delivery team to define the best combination of approach and tactics to achieve client business outcomes.
- You’ll help delivery and sales teams to balance risk, timeline, budget, and outcomes when creating solutions to client challenges.
- Create clarity. Client strategists are comfortable with ambiguity and willing to explore and discover, deriving insights and definition that creates clarity for clients and the team.
- In the face of the unknown, they show up as sensemakers, asking thoughtful questions, forming and testing hypotheses, and inspiring confidence from both the client and internal team that we'll find the right path.
- Drive client strategy. You’ll lead the charge in defining delivery strategy for clients. This includes pinning the strategic direction and target destination for an engagement, illuminating and clarifying what it takes to get there, molding the delivery approach, and problem solving through ongoing challenges.
- You’ll create space for and encourage delivery teams to think creatively and push for unique insights or approaches that deliver exceptional client results.
- Actively participate in delivery. Successful client strategists aren’t simply thinkers—they are also doers, facilitating meetings, working sessions, workshops, interviews and other collaborative engagement that informs our strategy.
- You’ll also spearhead the development of the artifacts that help us tell our story, including slide decks, scorecards, flowcharts, process maps, etc.
- Act as an integrator. You'll rally teams to collaborate across departments and silos. You'll act as the glue between the teams you work with, helping to clarify critical roles that must be played to execute our strategy effectively; identify dependencies and removing roadblocks; translating tactics, stories and strategies between different stakeholders; and creating the right environment for your teammates to succeed.
- Frame and shape the story. You’ll help the team craft clear, impactful deliverables and communicate the right level of detail to the right audience.
- You’ll translate data into meaningful insights and specific strategic opportunities and own and deliver our performance narrative with support from the broader team to promote the specific performance we're delivering, the insights we uncover, and the wins and opportunities along the way.
- Ability to inspire, influence, and activate cross-functional teams and initiatives.
- Proven ability to analyze trends, market research and competitive analysis to formulate strategic plans.
- A confident and charismatic presentation style with experience facilitating strategic planning sessions.
- A knack for storytelling with the ability to quickly absorb, synthesize, playback, validate, and expand on inputs from others.
- Demonstrable experience operating in cross-functional project teams.
- A desire to partner, collaborate with, and coach their teammates.
- An appreciation for a fast paced, highly collaborative environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing strategic thinking and execution in line with the responsibilities, skills, and capabilities described in this job description.
- Demonstrated experience in driving customer experience-oriented initiatives (digital marketing, campaign creation and execution, digital transformation, improving the customer journey, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience taking a “big idea” and creating a strategy and detailed operational plan to carry it through execution.
The Requirements
The ideal Tallwave Senior Client Strategist will have the following experience and education:
- Our new team member will have worked as an employee (versus an independent contractor) in an agency setting, ideally a growth company for at least 3 years.
- 5+ years of experience with the following specific offerings: Design, Development, Content, Search, Analytics, Research and Planning etc.
- 5+ years of experience in business consulting, management, or strategy specifically.
- Bachelors degree in marketing, public relations, business or another directly related field.
